The Kay SL combines all the benefits of the Birkenstock classics Tokio and Boston into one model. The upper instep strap can be folded back when needed to serve as a heel strap for additional support. The super outsole is slip-resistant, rolls smoothly, and is also oil- and grease-resistant. Its EVA midsole cushions every step, offering a high level of flexibility and slip resistance, which is especially valued in the medical field. All super outsole models are tested for slip resistance according to EN ISO 20347:2012. The sandal features an anatomically shaped cork-latex footbed, a super outsole with a cushioning midsole made from lightweight, flexible EVA plastic, and a slip-resistant, oil- and grease-resistant rubber outsole. The ko-Flor material is easy to care for and hygienic, lined on the inside with a soft, breathable layer of fleece. The sandal also includes individually adjustable metal pin buckles, a skin-friendly, flexible leather insole that gently conforms to the foot, and an open-pore surface that is highly breathable, ensuring a pleasant foot climate even during intense physical activity. The deep heel cup supports the foot tissue and keeps the heel bone stable in its natural position, providing nearly the same level of support as a closed shoe.
