The Kay SL combines all the benefits of the Birkenstock classics Tokyo and Boston into one model. The top instep strap can be folded back if needed and used as a heel strap for additional support. The super outsole is slip-resistant, rolls smoothly, and is oil- and grease-resistant. Its EVA midsole cushions every step. This high level of flexibility and surefootedness is particularly sought after in the medical field. All super outsole models are tested for slip resistance according to EN ISO 20347:2012. The anatomically shaped cork-latex footbed and super outsole feature a shock-absorbing midsole made of lightweight, flexible EVA plastic, with a slip-resistant, oil- and grease-resistant rubber outsole. ko-Flor, a low-maintenance and hygienic PVC material, is lined with a soft, breathable fleece layer on the inside. Individually adjustable metal pin buckles and a skin-friendly, flexible leather insole gently conform to the foot´s shape. The open-pore, highly breathable surface ensures a comfortable foot climate even during intense physical activity. The deep heel cup supports the foot tissue and keeps the heel bone stable in its natural position, offering nearly as much support as a closed shoe.
